Business Intelligence Technology as a Tool of Big Data Analysis and Support of Administrative Decision Making Application

Abstract

The necessity to maintain stability and search new strategic possibilities of business development under conditions of dynamic competitive environment and growth of the volumes of created and processed data cause the urgency of the problem of their storage, management and defining of their importance for useful application. The key role in the analysis and transformation of data into information and knowledge useful for business belongs to specialized tools of business analytics technology. In the course of evolution the role of Business Intelligence technology in proved administrative decision making has considerably changed from generation to generation. Modern analytical tools are characterized by high level of adaptation to the solution of business problems, built in business processes of small, average and large enterprises in various fields of activity, becoming the centre of their business architecture. Full-grown use of Business Intelligence possibilities allows automating the solution of a wide spectrum of analytical problems from construction of visualized reporting to predictive analysis. At the same time, their practical application is complicated by the lack of formation and insufficient study of category-conceptual device as theoretic-methodological basis of the development of big data analysis technologies. In the article the analysis of data transformation process and its influence on the level of administrative decision making is carried out. Comparative characteristic of Business Intelligence and Business Analytics technologies is given, and evolution stages and various approaches to definition Business Intelligence are investigated.
