Organizational-Methodical Aspects of the Requirements to Information Systems Automating the Problems of Management and Business Processes

Abstract

Decision-making on creation/acquisition and introduction of applied software automating the problems of organizational management and/or business processes to increase efficiency of the enterprise activity is difficult and responsible process demanding complex estimation of the problems of automation, software functionality, and budget. To substantiate the suggestions on introduction of new tools and automation methods, and to minimize the realization risks of IT project the process of working out of the requirements to information system is necessary. The basic problems of working out of the requirements are connected with various approaches to their classification, insufficient regulation of document presentation, absence of strict rules of requirements formulation, and etc. Besides, a number of difficulties is caused by ambiguity of perception and discrepancy of vision of the end-product by a developer and a customer. In the article importance of correct requirements formation is defined and formulation of the concept “the requirement to information system” is presented. Kinds of requirements are described and characteristic of the levels and basic stages of their formation is given, the basic qualitative characteristics to which should correspond to both separately taken requirement, and the system of requirements are identified and defined. To demonstrate practical realization of the technique, business requirements and functional user requirements to project management information system for architectural project-oriented organizations are formulated.
