Abstract

The article is devoted to the idea of advertising as a social phenomenon. Advertising, methods and practice used to communicate the public information about the products, services, opinions or reasons in order to persuade the public to respond in a certain way to what is advertised. Most advertising involves promoting the product that is sold, but similar methods are used to encourage people to drive safely, support various charitable foundations or vote for political candidates, and many other examples. In many countries advertising is the most important source of income for media (e.g. newspapers, magazines or television) where it is offered. In today's world, advertising has become a large and important service industry.
