Abstract

There is growing understanding of the colossal contribution of cultural sphere to the socio-economic development of countries both in academic and political circles today. The role of culture as a factor of economic growth is analyzed by theorists and practitioners through the prism of cultural and creative industries. Cultural and creative industry is a sector of the economy where a significant part of the added value is generated through creative activity and management of intellectual property rights. In the last decade, cultural and creative industries have demonstrated positive dynamics: the contribution of the industries to GDP has increased, employment of economically active population in this area has grown, the world market of creative goods and services sold has demonstrated record figures. Rapid growth of cultural and creative industries around the world has led to growing level of their involvement in the global economy. The article examines the degree of internationalization of economic activity in creative industry.
