Current Trends in Travel Industry in Russia

Abstract

The article considers the national project Tourism and the Hospitality Industry, adopted in 2021 consisting of three federal projects and aimed at the comprehensive development of travel industry in Russia. The purpose of the first project Improving Management in the Field of Tourism is to improve legislation, modernize management system and train personnel who would meet all the requirements of international standards. The government proposes to develop mechanisms to increase the demand and accessibility of tourist trips in the framework of the second project Improving Availability of Tourism Services. The third federal project Development of Tourism Infrastructure provides a number of measures aimed at modernizing service structures and facilities of travel industry, as well as drawing up tourist master plan throughout Russia for further development of its tourist space. The article also analyzes innovative technologies in the field of tourism, as well as examples of the activities carried out by the Government of the Russian Federation within the framework of support of both large, medium and small businesses enterprises in tourism industry.
