Efficiency of Family State Support for Solution of Demographic Problems of Russia

Abstract

One of the actual problems of modern Russia is demographic one. It is characterized by the low level of birth rate and high death rate of the population. The tendencies predetermine measures to increase natural increase of citizens which are actively studied and realized by the country leaders. Family is a perspective vector on which the transformations character in the future will depend on. Therefore the problem of the state initiatives in the field of family policy should be focused on restoration of the institution of family. In the article statistical data about the quantity of marriages and divorces in the country are analyzed, and negative tendencies of reduction of number of registered relations are revealed that allows to ascertain the importance and necessity of the measures to support families. To define the “sharpest” moments in realization of the government actions the results of VTsIOM suevey (Russian Public Opinion Research Center ) are presented which clearly shows the relation of the citizens to the president initiatives. Special attention is paid to the future changes in social-demographic policy concerning families and birth of children. The carried out analysis allows to reveal some divergences in understanding of introduced measures by the population and in possibility of their realization. In this aspect, families with children need serious support from the state for high-grade performance of function of education of the future generation.
