SCIENCE IN THE MODERN WORLD

Abstract

The basic function of a science is an acquisition of new knowledge. Scientific result is something that anyhow changes the picture of the world. Today science tries to compete with mysticism and religions on their ground, trying «to explain scientifically» what is outside positive knowledge. Modern science was divided into three functional parts: «a useful science», «an interesting science» and useless and uninteresting remains, the so-called «pure», or the academic science.
