Abstract

The Russian market of chewing gum appeared and developed in the last decade of the last century. And until recently its volumes has been constantly growing. Today the Russian market of chewing gum is distributed between two companies - Wrigley and Cadbury. Market shares of Cadbury and Wrigley have been changing for last 10 years. To enter the market it is necessary for other companies to be guided by the price level of the branch. Besides, economic barriers of entrance are of importance. The most important barrier among the strategic ones are distributive barrier and advertising expenses. Positive return from the scale can be referred to non-strategic barriers. Administrative barriers caused by the legislation of the Russian Federation are also of importance.
