THE ANALYSIS OF THE MARKET OF SERVICES OF CELLULAR COMMUNICATION IN RUSSIA

Abstract

The market of cellular communication services is one of key segments of telecommunications market. Cellular communication services include telephone system, voice and messages transfer, roaming, access to the Internet, number definition, call readdressing, conferencing and additional utility services. Owing to the fact that there are networks using various standards of communication in the market, definition of the product borders of the market is quite a challenge as the basic services rendered according to different types of technology are equivalent and interchangeable [4]. In the article consolidated category is considered: the market of services of cellular communication operators working on the territory of the Russian Federation. The branch is regulated by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. The basic regulation tools of the branch are subsidizing and lawmaking. The state can undoubtedly aggravate competition in the branch through antimonopoly regulation, however there is no need in new players in the market: it is more favourable to introduce innovations (for example, technology of 5G communication) and to carry out the state problems at the national level (to cover the territory of Russia with communication network) with the established leaders in the given sphere
