Crime Rate as an Indicator of the Country's Economy Development

The article considers the correlation between the crime rate and the economy development. The focus is on variables such as receiving/giving bribes, crimes against life and health, as well as data characterizing crime. The high level of crime has a negative impact on public relations criminalization and economic growth. Undoubtedly, the criminal situation has a negative impact on the national economy, which also affects the state budget, macroeconomic policy effectiveness, economic growth, investment climate, competitiveness, corruption growth and the country's position in world rankings. The fight against crime should be considered as a problem of national security of the country. It is necessary to develop practical recommendations for improving the current legislation in Russia aimed at countering challenges and threats to economic security, preventing crisis phenomena in the resource and raw materials, production, scientific, technological and financial spheres, as well as preventing life quality decrease of the population.Downloads
