Abstract

Research of theoretical approaches to the concept of intellectual capital which are reflected in works of domestic and foreign scientists has allowed to make a conclusion that it is necessary to approach to the definition of this term taking into account several aspects. First of all, intellectual capital is peculiar to separate individual and in this aspect it can be defined as a set of various qualitative features of an individual which consist of knowledge, experience, abilities, ideas, and his objects of intellectual property and possibility of their reproduction in the future. This aspect of consideration of the investigated category is very narrow and does not disclose its potential. Therefore it is more expedient to consider the category in a broad sense, namely, at organisation level. More widely intellectual capital is “a complex of various economic subjects necessary for effective application of accumulated knowledge, information, technologies and intellectual property in aspiration to achieve stable development of innovative production of different goods and services, to raise standard of living of the population appreciably and to promote the solution of the problems of externality in the economy”. Success of innovative development depends not only on how productive independent innovative factors act, but also on the organization of interrelations between them. The main interlink in the system of innovations, scientific researches and design are higher educational institutions (higher schools). Therefore it seems to be expedient to consider the process of intellectual capital formation on the example of Russian higher schools. Modern education system at the university acts as integrating component directed on aimed at professional-personal development of the student as a result of the system of integrated management relations in by in vocational training of future graduates on the basis of intellectual capital of educational institution. Along with general educational, professional training systems at higher school, the system of maintenance of training quality integrated into general educational process within the limits of the available intellectual capital of educational institution should be used.
